Technology Licensing

It is the goal of INAVISIS® to help its clients properly leverage their intellectual assets. Patents, technical know-how, and trademarks are frequently under-utilized because companies often do not have the resources to identify their most marketable intangibles and set a strategy in place. This can result in the unrealized loss of hundreds of thousands, or millions of dollars of potential licensing revenue.
We work with companies to understand their mission and to help them through all the necessary stages in developing a licensing strategy. The process begins with identifying the most licensable intangible assets from a portfolio, or focusing on a specific technology or a trademark that a client has already pre-selected to take to market. We then study the market(s) that it relates to.
The next step involves the due diligence of a license. This includes assigning an appropriate market-based royalty rate and upfront fee, and assisting the client in determining whether the license should be exclusive or non-exclusive. These aspects may be negotiated once an appropriate licensee is found. A deal memo will be created which leads to the more detailed license agreement.
The INAVISIS® licensing team works with all aspects of licensing. Companies hire us to do parts or all of this process. We are often hired to identify the most marketable technologies or trademarks so that internal corporate discussions and projections can be resolved or substantiated. If the assets identified have strong licensing potential, we then may be asked to create the deal memo and enter into licensing discussions with potential licensees. When this takes place we team with the client (the licensor) to pick the most appropriate licensing partners and get the agreement signed.
It is our objective to help corporations generate additional revenue utilizing their intellectual assets to form new partnerships and to give our clients the tools necessary to succeed throughout the licensing process.
