Our Technology Valuation Management System brings product and market data together with information on the technologies that support them. Unlike other software which may provide only an unstructured tool, TVMS™ also provides a strategic management process for analyzing the relationships between technologies and existing or potential markets. A Summary of the TVMS™ Process

 
The process begins by getting technology data into the system's Patent Database. Although so named, this database can accommodate pre-disclosed R&D, know-how, trade secrets, or even just ideas. (The "patent" format allows the record to be easily updated if patent protection is subsequently obtained.)

The next step is to create records for one or more "Projects" in the Project Database. TVMS™ Projects represent any of your existing or potential products, markets, customers, licensees, joint ventures -- anything that represents a strategic, profit-making aspect of your business.

Using a unique keyword cataloging process, the technologies in the Patent Database are then associated with any given Project.

Each Project is then "Screened" using an efficient 10-criteria scoring system. Only those Projects which pass Screening merit additional effort at this stage (i.e., further time and money need not be wasted on low scoring strategies).

Passing Projects are then further "Assessed" in a more rigorous process designed to evaluate the strength of both the business and its supporting technology.

Finally, the value of the business is ascertained for each Project, and the technology's contribution to this value is determined from the results of the earlier Assessment.
